The Marks Manager Template is for Ontario high school teachers to meet the curriculum grading requirements that came in effect starting in 2001. It provides the necessary differences between the Grade 9-12 and OAC grading requirements.
It is an excel based template which uses macros to perform the regular maintenance every semester. It started with a couple of teachers early in 1997. With changes in the curriculum in 2001, modifications were made. Now, it's been simplified to make it easier to use and more robust, available to everyone.
We know many schools already have marks programs however, there are often license restrictions, where it can be used, etc. This program will be based on the honor system. You purchase a copy, you may use it anywhere you please.
We use RegNow, a division of Digital River, a leading online vendor providing secure ordering for our customers. Being in the US, this registration service charges in US$. The result is the price is $10 which is usually under $14 Canadian. After completing the order, a copy will be delivered to you automatically by email. The file is less than 100kb so it can even be handled easily on a dialup modem connection.

Simply make a copy and open it in Excel. It has been tested on versions 97, 2000, 2002. When it loads, you may be prompted about this file contains macros and should you enable them. Please enable the macros as they are necessary for the setup of a semester. Once it loads, it will display a comment about "this being a filler page". On the menu bar at the top, far right side, there should be "Marks Mgr" menu item. If it is not there, the computer you are operating on does not have macros enabled. You only need to use a macro enabled computer (most home systems and about half of the schools) to setup a semester. All of the daily marks management doesn't require macros capability. Some school boards may shut down macros for security in an attempt to control viruses.
